 FRAGMENTS.OF THE HOME

Site-specific Project
(2022 - Now)
Keywords: Home, Cycle, Technology, Reflection, Nature,
Sensory Experience, Performance

A person’s life journey can be intuitively revisited through geopolitical and spatial perspectives. Fragments of the Home is created to explore this process. This project utilises the materials and technology available around them and directly responds to the social situations occurring in their surroundings. Instead of looking at the term ‘home’ as a tangible space, ‘home’ in this work explores more the meaning of the human mind and body as the home itself, and how they shift from place to place. Fragments of the Home #1 was created in Yogyakarta in 2022, followed by Fragments of the Home #2 (2024), which was made in London.

The project has an open-ended production method, responding to the uncertainties and current trend of rapid migrations among productive generations. Emphasising the power of the human senses as a universal language, Fragments of the Home tries to address contemporary issues around human interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, the intersections between technology and humanity, and the coexistence of nature and human-made tools.
